Version 2.0 of IGDD is coming up soon. The updated database will include complex diseases and mitochondrial disorders.

   Heart Disorders:

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia 2 ( MIM:600996)

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia 2 (ARVD2) is an autosomal dominant heart disease caused by mutations in the RYR2 gene ( MIM:180902). ARVD presents usually with recurrent, sustained ventricular tachycardia with left bundle branch block configuration. In affected individuals it is a risk-factor for sudden death, especially triggered by strenuous exercise. Progressively severely damaged myocardiummight result into heart failure.

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia 9 (  MIM : 609040 )

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia 9 (ARVD9) is an autosomal dominant heart disease caused by mutations in the PKP2 gene (  MIM : 602861 ). ARVD presents usually with recurrent, sustained ventricular tachycardia with left bundle branch block configuration. In affected individuals it is a risk-factor for sudden death, especially triggered by strenuous exercise. Progressively severely damaged myocardium might result into heart failure.
