Arrhythmogenic
right ventricular dysplasia 2 (ARVD2) is an autosomal dominant heart disease
caused by mutations in the RYR2 gene ( MIM:180902). ARVD presents usually with
recurrent, sustained ventricular tachycardia with left bundle branch block
configuration. In affected individuals it is a risk-factor for sudden death,
especially triggered by strenuous exercise. Progressively severely damaged
myocardiummight result into heart failure.
