Cerebral arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy ( MIM: 125310)
Cerebral arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is an autosomal dominant progressive disorder of the small arterial vessels of the brain caused by mutations in the NOTCH3 gene ( MIM: 600276 ). The disease manifests as migraine, strokes, and white matter lesions, with resultant cognitive impairment in some patients.
